Publishing the "Don't Be That KID!" Series was the culmination of my desire to provide parents, grandparents and educators with a fun way to introduce and reinforce behavior expectations and core value principles.

Prior to writing the first book, "Don't Be That KID! At School" and its corresponding resource guide, I developed a business plan. One component of it is a marketing plan. The plan is divided into sections called School Districts, Colleges/Universities, Libraries, Social Media/TV/Radio, Events, Local Businesses, Educational Consulting Companies, Organizations, and, of course Other. Under each area, are listings of people and places to contact to discuss the books and/or consulting opportunities.

My marketing plan is a "living" document that is constantly being updated. Through the different sections, I've been able to into schools to meet with teachers to conduct behavior assemblies for students in grades K - 5. It's been so fulfilling to get back into the classrooms!

I've met the most supportive people through the other categories! In particular, through networking groups I've joined, men and women have embraced teaching their children and grandchildren values through reading and sharing the "Don't Be That KID!" Series.

Polka-Dot Powerhouse is one group composed of amazing women whose goal is to assist other members both personally and professionally. I've met the most incredible, caring women who have assured the "KID" is in every state in the United States! I presented "How to Create a Marketing Plan" at the Treasure Coast Chapter luncheon. Each participant left with the beginning of a plan or an extension of their existing one. It is very exciting to be able to join these wonderful women to increase our networking opportunities and grow our businesses.
